. . .pink and green were thought of as "preppy" colors; although, I cannot remember why exactly.
Not surprisingly, this quilt was way ahead of it's time and I do believe the alternate blue squares gives it extra zing. Can you see the scalloped stitching within the basket and the curved lines under the "handle"? The glass glare made capturing the quilting lines rather difficult, but I did try. Little did I know this exhibit would be gone so soon.

That's a wonderful quilt! When I clicked on the photo, I was able to see the quilting lines which, along with the colors, make the quilt for me.
I absolutely love blue and green together. Love the Williamsburg picture too.
