From 2009 to 2017, that's only 8 years right?

Not bad considering.
Lori at Humble Quilts Blog kindly offered this pattern; however, I used 2" squares and adjusted everything else accordingly.
Need to do a quick label which also gives credit to Lori of course.
Spring is drifting in on us slowly.  The big question is do I start Spring cleaning before or after the pollen comes?  Always a conundrum.  Since my middle name is procrastination, I do believe I'll finish a few more quilts first.

Until then, keep stitchin' . . .

Locals call this Dogwood Winter

Have you heard the term before?  It occurs when the dogwood trees begin to bloom and the temperatures drop simultaneously.  We're to hit a high of 50 today and there's also a high wind advisory out.

It's a good day to stay inside and sew.

Here's another finish.  Simple quilting accents each block, while straight rows frame the borders.

 Until then, keep stitchin' . . .

Ch, cha, chaa, changes . . . .

Heavens to Betsy, I cannot remember the words to that song .  . . can you?  But it certainly conveys what's happening 'round here!
Lots and lots of sewing of course.  This one will most likely get a blue border, maybe purple.
Notice all of the hand-dyed fabrics.

Will call it Rhyme or Reason?  Or maybe Color My World, hmmm.  Any thoughts on this?
Dolly is getting used to changes too.

A lot of good things are happening here.  I'm training for a new job and it's so much fun.  People actually smile and say hello . . . "we're glad to see you" . . . "thank you for being part of our team!"  It's so astonishingly refreshing to actually be appreciated.

There will be time for quilting!  Dolly will get to go on walks!  And of course I'm planning an extra big garden this year.  Oh happy day.

How are things with you all?

Until then, keep stitchin' . . .

It's Wednesday, are you quilting something fun?

Recently, this gem was unearthed.  Begun in 1986, yes you've read that right, I believe it's time to finish it.  Perhaps for Valentine's Day.

It's coming up you know.  Next Tuesday.  Susan Branch has paper hearts hung in all of her windows, which is a terrific idea, especially if there are kids around to help you out.
Dolly isn't very good with scissors, so I think we'll just focus on quilting.

Have you bought your loved ones something special?  Flowers, chocolate, or a gift certificate to the local quilt shop?  Why not all 3.  After all, it only comes but once a year!

Until then, keep stitchin' . . .

Elvis sings, "1 for the money, 2 for the show, 3 to get ready

now go cat go, but don't you, step on my blue suede shoes."
Now that you're humming along, let's look at the next quilt top shall we.
It's a scrappy Irish chain, which I gave some instructions on how to do here.  The 25 patch blocks are made up of 2" squares.
Dolly and I have been having serious conversations about this year's garden.  I'm of the opinion that it's time she learned how to pull the wagon, haul dirt, and carry shovels.  She emphatically reminds me it's her job to rest in the shade and supervise.  Hmmm, a conundrum.

Until then, keep stitchin' . . .
