For some reason, every time I work on something electrical, it takes 3 times longer than normal.
The corner light off the front porch has not worked well for over a year. After finding several new lights in a porch bin, I decided to replace the original.
Multiple trips up and down the ladder ensued. This light was wired in, screwed in, and tested not once, but twice. And still one bulb would not work.
On the second day, I cut a rubber gasket from a car mat, chose a second fixture, aligned the holes correctly, taped it together, and went up the ladder once again.
Wired everything in very securely, and standing at a precarious angle, screwed the whole thing down. The extra gasket helps seal the fixture well, preventing moisture from entering.
Climbed back down, turned it on, and finally . . . it worked.
It's a long drop on this side of the house. After falling off a small ladder 3 weeks ago and hitting the cement floor, ladders are not my favorite thing right now. However, the gutters needed cleaning badly, so it had to be done.
The last of the pumpkins have been picked. It's been so warm, they were allowed to grow a bit longer. This year, the plan is to bury them in the garden in one location and mark the spot so I know where the seedlings will start coming up come spring.
Halloween is over with Thanksgiving fast approaching. That means Christmas is coming up fast. Oh boy, I'd best get busy.

Looks like you did a great job. I am impressed, as I know nothing about wiring.
Wow, you did well with the light installation despite the roadblocks you had. It should be fun to see how your pumpkin patch looks come spring!
Wow I am really impressed. I know nothing about wiring and have found someone who will clean the gutters at a reasonable price. Good for you for getting the porch light to work. Mine hasn't worked in about a year!
