Do you remember my newly painted yellow closet?
Well the last of the shelves finally went up and I was able to move 62 bolts of fabric onto the lower one.
Yup, 62.
These are not full bolts by any means. I brought home empty cardbord from a friend's fabric shop and proceeded to wind anything I had 2 or more yards of onto the bolt. Then I wrote the yardage on the top and whether or not it was washed.
Keep in mind that some of this stuff has been packed in bins for 10-15 years. I had no idea what I had . . . but now I do.
Hopefully soon I'll be able to start using it up. Now that would truly be progress.
Until then, keep stitchin' . . .

I just used 12 yards from a bolt as the backing of the Double 4-patch. It turned out to be less that 12 yards because I trimmed it off. I am so, so sick and tired of that fabric. Once I am finished with this quilt I think I'll give the plaid fabric away.
Wow, I'm sure you will use more know that you can see it. Some great colours there. I mainly have smaller bits but have moved to buying few larger pieces as I find them more useable.
I'm so happy for you. It is so nice (and motivating) to be able to see what we have!

Wow, what a great way to store your fabric. It must be wonderful to see everything at a glance instead of rummaging through totes like I do!
