This is to announce that all hang gliding ....

... activities will be suspended until further notice. Snow flurries continuing throughout the day make it impossible to clear your goggles, making landing your craft rather hazardous.

I borrowed this photo from the Quilt Study Center, as I wanted to share something red and green, as well as inspirational.

Dolly is keeping a close eye out for any airmen bucking protocol.

That little 4-lettered word . . .

has been spotted in the forecast . . . .

Do you see it . . . . . SNOW!

Dolly is stationed at her post and on the lookout.

Either that or she smells the neighbor's steak cooking on the grill. Not sure which she finds more exciting.

Until then, keep stitchin' . . .

Lightbulb moment!

Every once in awhile an idea flies in the window like an intinerant bee. Why it took so long to arrive, I've no idea.

Recently when cleaning the fridge, I made up "soup packets" by chopping, dicing and slicing cabbage, carrots, celery, and onions. Exactly what I had in the veggie drawer.

I placed each item in a bowl and then combined ingredients in vacuum seal bags. Now everything is ready to pop in the crockpot with some soup stock also stored in the freezer.

Dolly loves the smell of soup cooking.

Ohhh alright, Dolly loves the smell of anything cooking, as she knows she's going to get a taste.

We woke up to a balmy 19 degrees this morning . . .

and although the frost was not on the pumpkin,

it did show up on the cabbage plants in garden,

and this oak seedling, a gift from the squirrels.

Luckily, in preparation, I picked up wood pellets last night.

meanwhile Dolly tried to hide her disappointment that it wasn't snow . . . .

yet!
