Reviewing yesterdays' 300+ wedding pictures.....

I'm having a good laugh at myself.

About 96% of them are very very blurry.  I must have had the camera on AF-S.

 Many tell a story.  This is on the porch of the church, greeting guests after the ceremony.

Mother of the bride removes cake from bride's face after the cake cutting.

Being a flower girl is a hard job.

A friend lent their 1952 Chevy for a photo shoot.

I really loved getting the kids in their natural state, being kids.

Thank heavens this one came out well.  Best wishes to the new happy couple.

And yes, I'll be making them a quilt.

Thursday's Thumper

Last night, lo and behold, I discovered YouTube videos on using my new camera.

 It can get pretty confusing, all of these buttons, dials, and features.

 So I took a break today and shot a few of my favorite subjects.

 Of course, they're all adorable, but this one has my heart.

Tiny enough to fit in a teacup.

 Borrowing momma's back to reach up for a quick drink.

At three weeks of age, these new babies are just leaving the nest to eat, drink, and be merry.

There's a lesson there I'm thinkin'.

Quilter's camouflage, what everyone needs to dance in the Rainbow Room

Awhile back, I did a post on "why was everyone wearing camo gear and what exactly were they hiding from?"  It seems to be everywhere.  Come October, folks walk around Wal-Mart dressed as trees for Heaven's sake.  Certainly, none are tall enough to be Ents.

 After careful analysis and thoughtful deliberation, I've created my own quilter's camo T-shirts.  Unlike the Wal-Mart Ents, I do not wish to hide.

 The shirts were soaked in the water solution, then hung on a hanger.

I chose each color of dye and opened one container at a time.  Wearing gloves, a mask, apron, etc. I then sprinkled dye powder on the wet shirt.  Multiple colors were used.

Depending on how damp the shirt was and how the wind was blowing, decided the dye pattern.

 Some were then rolled up in plastic bags and left to cure overnight.

This is my new summer attire, for mowing the lawn, etc.

Even if I stand on the ladder, no one will take me for an Ent!

Ah yes, the design wall with 3 projects and a slew of starched strips.

It's time to contain the chaos.

The cutting table, piled high with containers of "stuff".

The weather prediction is a high of 88 with a 40% chance of rain.  We do need the rain, but oh glory bee the humidity, ugga.

Staying inside with the AC on high and cleaning up sounds like a good plan to me.

You have my permission to do the same.
