Not JUST blue, but ROYAL blue borders are torn, starched, and waiting on the design wall. However, I thought you might enjoy seeing it assembled first.

And finally it's baking day using Bonnie's recipe for banana bread. It's also cleaning day. So despite the gloomy weather, I'm hoping to make the furniture shine following my mother's dictum that "furniture must be polished once a week." Of course, if I actually finished those table toppers, the tables would not need to be dusted . . . hmmmm.

Just 1 more row and then I can assemble the sections. Yes, they are 2" squares . . . 1,440 to be exact. A very nice even number.

Borders? Hmmm, probably blue. Then again, maybe red. Ohhh, this is so much fun.

Color my world

After sewing warm prints for so many months, I needed to switch over to cool solids and hand-dyed colors.

I'm moving my office to the guest room and decided I needed something cheerful and uplifting above my computer. I think this will fill the bill nicely.

Crossing the finish line . . .

Some string and a clothesline

That's all it took to create the following.
Susan and Diane finished up their string tops and donated extra red and blue fabric besides.
Even though I'm not Bill Coleman, I think this makes a lovely patriotic image. See what a small group of volunteers can do with a bit of string. Great job ladies!

(Side bar: Bill Coleman is a well known photographer who captures images of Amish life in Pennsylvania. I've always loved his work even though I've never been able to afford it.)
